Botox/Dysport Cosmetic Houston
Botox and Dysport are different brands of same type of drug (botulinum), which is injected to help smooth fine lines and give a more youthful appearance. These drugs are called neuromodulators because they block the signals from nerves to move certain facial muscles. The result is that the muscles near the injection relax and weaken. Without movement of the muscles, the overlying skin smooths and wrinkles appear less prominent.
The FDA has approved use for neuromodulators to treat crow’s feet lines around the eyes and frown lines between the eyebrows and forehead. Off label, neuromodulators can also be used to treat gummy smile, mild frown lines, and large jaw muscles. At your consultation, Dr. Rodman will discuss options for treatment and which injections are best for you.
Patients can usually see results after three days, but it can take two weeks for maximum results to become visible. Patient may notice bruising a small amount of swelling after the injections, but can generally resume normal activities immediately. The effect of the treatment lasts about 3-4 months.
