Dr. Rodman believes everyone deserves access to health care, and volunteers for surgical missions both domestically and internationally.
Dr. Rodman is involved with Face to Face, which is the philanthropic branch of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS). In the United States and abroad, AAFPRS surgeons provide complimentary care to those who suffer from facial deformities caused by birth or trauma. In the United States, Face to Face coordinates The National Domestic Violence Project. This organization pairs individuals who have been affected by domestic violence with facial plastic surgeons such as Dr. Rodman. Dr. Rodman volunteers to help victims of domestic abuse who cannot afford to receive treatment for facial injuries. These efforts repair both physical and psychological scars and help individuals to regain self-esteem and begin to rebuild their lives.
Face to Face also sponsors international surgical missions. Members travel all over the world to help individuals whose faces were damaged at birth, by disease or by war. In addition, AAFPRS members share their knowledge and the latest techniques in facial plastic surgery with their international colleagues. Dr Rodman has previously been on surgical mission trips to Ecuador and Guatemala, and most recently went on a Face to Face sponsored trip to India. Dr Rodman’s Face to Face team partners with The India Project Inc. to provide surgery for children with facial deformities such as cleft lip and palate, microtia and other birth defects. They also provided surgery for adults whose faces were deformed due to trauma, burns and infections.
